また、音楽は私に大きな影響を与えています。音楽を聴くとき、私には形が見えます。それは建築のようなイメージ。この能力は、かつて、ダンサーとしての経験の中で、振り付けを素早く覚えるのに役立ちました。ジュエリーやアート作品を作る際には、聞こえてくる形を作品に翻訳し、それが人間の動きにどう作用するか想像したりします。そう、まるでダンスのように。

サイモン・アルカンタラは、NYを拠点にするジュエリーデザイナー。
彼のジュエリーは、デザイナー本人がハンドウィービング（ジュエリーを編む）でジュエリーを完成させる、というユニークな手法で知られています。
通常は、石をつけるのに爪や土台を作りセッティングしますが、彼のジュエリーは糸を使い見事に編み付けていきます。
元は、プロのバレエダンサーでソリスト、プリンシパルとして活躍していた時期もありました。
怪我をきっかけに趣味で続けていたジュエリー作りを始め、彼の美しいフープピアスが有名スタイリストの目に留まり「プラダを着た悪魔」でメリル・ストリープが着用したことで、瞬く間にその名声が広がりました。
シンプルなのに存在感がある唯一無二のジュエリーは、今もスタイリストなどプロの愛好家が多く、毎月のように雑誌に掲載されています。
全てのジュエリーがハンドウィービングの手法を使って作られているので、リンクコーディネイトがしやすくリピートして集めるコレクターが多いのも特徴です。

He is known for his unique technique of hand-weaving jewelry, personally completing each piece himself.
Typically, stones are set using prongs or bases, but in his jewelry, he masterfully weaves them into place using threads.
Originally, he was a professional ballet dancer, performing as a soloist and even as a principal.
After an injury, he turned to jewelry making—a long-time hobby—which led to his breakthrough when his beautifully crafted hoop earrings caught the eye of a renowned stylist. Meryl Streep wore his design in The Devil Wears Prada, and his name quickly gained recognition.
His jewelry is simple yet striking, making it a favorite among stylists and professionals.
In Japan, his pieces are featured in magazines almost every month.
Since all his jewelry is created using the hand-weaving technique, it allows for effortless link coordination, leading many collectors to repeatedly add his designs to their collections.

With heartfelt dedication, the designer himself handcrafts and jewelries are delivered to each customers. Therefore, there is a limited production quantity, and the full collection of new works and continued items including eternal items can be ordered at the biannual Japan trunk shows (by appointment only). The jewelry featured here is just a small selection, including items featured in medias including magazines and eternal classics.
